Behind the scenes

How the work actually gets made

Two cameras, one bag

What we actually carry to a wedding, and why it is less than you think.

We shoot two bodies with fast primes, a small flash and nothing else in reach. Everything extra lives in the car.

Carrying less means we move faster, stay out of the way and never miss a moment while changing a lens.

How a gallery gets made

From 4,000 frames to the 400 you receive.

Culling happens twice: a fast pass on the night, then a slower pass two days later when we are less attached.

Colour is graded in one sitting so the whole gallery feels like one day, not four hundred separate photographs.

Why we scout your venue before the day

Twenty minutes of walking saves an hour of guessing.

We visit at roughly the same time of day as your ceremony to see where the light falls and where it does not.

By the time your day arrives we already know three portrait spots, the backup for rain, and where the ugly bins are.
